Dear Elizabeth Whepley,
The children's book illustrator, David McPhail, is visiting the Concord Free Public Library's Children's Room on November 16 to help us celebrate Children's Book Week. Because of the special nature of the program, we are planning to have a cake with several of Mr. McPhail's characters on top. Deborah Ann's, a bakery in Bedford, Massachusetts needs written permission for the one time use of the character Pig Pig taken from the book Pig Pig Gets a Job (Dutton Children's Bks., 1990) by David McPhail. I would appreciate it if you could write a letter of permission and Fax it to the Library's Fax machine (#508-371-6244) or mail it so that I can give the bakery the O.K. along with the design for the cake.
