News Clipping - Unknown (1925)
Description
A news clipping from an unknown newspaper describing the anticipated shipment of commemorative stamps due to arrive in Boston on April 4th, 1925.
Transcription:
On April 4, 1,00,000 1-cent, 2,000,000 2-cent and 400,000 5-cent stamps of the Lexington-Concord commemorative issue will be place on sale here, it was announced today, by Postmaster Roland M. Baker. The big stamp shipment is expected to arrive here tomorrow. The department further states that 100,000 1-cent, 100,000 2-cent and 30,000 5-cent stamps of the special issue will be placed on sale at the Cambridge postoffice on the same date. The supply of the commemorative issue is very limited, and it is expected it will be exhausted rapidly, though it is possible that more will be struck off at Washington if the demand necessitates it.
